As a pioneering company in Herefordshire with a worldwide market for its products, Haigh is a perfect choice to pursue your career.
We welcome up to three apprentices each year in machining, fitting or fabrication/welding, electrics or business administration. We particularly want to encourage more women to consider engineering as a career.
Develop your skills as you work, earn and study for a nationally recognised qualification
We’re proud to have developed a number of people from their apprenticeship through to manager status. In fact 99% of our apprentices go on to secure a permanent role on completion of their apprenticeship.
Are you ready to start building your career?
Previous work experience isn’t essential but we’ll need to assess that you have the right attitude and passion to join Haigh. Candidates will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and be able to transfer the skills and knowledge you’ve gained so far to start work in a professional environment like ours.
You’ll be expected to achieve or already hold reasonable GCSE grades in five subjects, including maths and English at grade 4/5 or above.
As one of the founding partners of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Group Training Association (HWGTA) over 50 years ago, we source our apprentices through them. Visit their website or call 01432 377 002 to find out more.
What to expect
Once HWGTA discover what kind of person you are, they’ll help you choose the right career path for you. If you’re lucky enough to be offered an advanced apprenticeship, it will last up to four years, starting with a year off-the-job training at HWGTA in Hereford.
Subsequent training will include college day release (for City & Guilds or BTEC National Diploma qualifications) and a NVQ Level 3, and of course, on the job training from our professionals.
